FAQ
What's the difference between Red Light Therapy and an Infrared Sauna?
Red Light Therapy is NOT an infrared sauna.
Infrared Saunas have one purpose, to heat you and make you sweat. The irony is that most infrared saunas don't get hot enough to actually give you the health benefits of sauna use.
Red Light Therapy devices contain "red light" and "near infrared light."
These are specific wavelengths of light that stimulate mitochondrial function in EVERY cell in the body. In other words all the cells in your body produce more ATP. ATP is energy in our cells, thus the wide variety of improvements in SO many areas. From anti-aging to improved athletic performance, there are over 3,000 published studies on RLT.
Just because a light is "tinted" red doesn't mean it's actual red light therapy.
Many infrared saunas will con the consumer due to lack of knowledge. They know that you don't know the difference.
What is Red Light Therapy?
Red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation, is a therapeutic technique that uses red and near-infrared light to stimulate cellular activity in the body. It involves exposing the skin to specific wavelengths of light which can penetrate deeply into the tissue and stimulate the production of energy within cells. This energy can then be used to repair and regenerate damaged tissues, reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and promote overall health and wellbeing. Red light therapy is non-invasive and painless, and it is used to treat a variety of conditions, including skin problems, joint pain, muscle soreness, and mood disorders. It is considered safe for most people and is increasingly being used as a natural, drug-free therapy option for a wide range of health issues.
Is it safe?
With decades of scientific studies behind it, RLT is trusted by professional athletes, physical therapists, and more, to deliver the best results for skin rejuvenation, muscle recovery, and training!
RLT + (Near Infrared) is extremely safe and there are no known negative side effects after 3,000+ clinical studies.
All technology at Thera-RED are official FDA Class II Medical Devices and manufactured in a FDA registered facility.
How does it work?
Red light therapy works by delivering specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to the body, typically through LED lights. These wavelengths of light penetrate the skin and are absorbed by the cells, triggering a cascade of biological reactions that can help to improve cellular function and promote healing.
One of the primary mechanisms by which red light therapy works is through the stimulation of mitochondria within cells. Mitochondria are the powerhouses of cells and are responsible for producing energy in the form of ATP. Red light therapy can help to enhance mitochondrial function, which can in turn improve cellular energy production and promote the repair and regeneration of damaged tissues.
Red light therapy has also been shown to reduce inflammation in the body. When the light is absorbed by cells, it can help to reduce the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which are molecules that contribute to inflammation. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals with inflammatory conditions such as arthritis.
Additionally, red light therapy has been shown to increase blood flow and circulation in the body, which can help to deliver oxygen and nutrients to tissues and improve overall cellular health. It has also been shown to promote the production of collagen, a protein that is essential for healthy skin, hair, and nails.
Overall, red light therapy works by stimulating cellular activity and promoting healing and regeneration within the body. While the exact mechanisms by which it works are still being studied, it is becoming increasingly clear that this therapy has many potential health benefits.
